I'm thrilled to have visitors!
I've been a full-time creator since January , 2018 and I have a lot to share.
Real quick-- my husband is my best friend, We recently celebrated our 30th Anniversary. We have three adult kids who turned out to be people that I really like. Now on to the professional stuff.
In my previous professional life, I worked full-time as an attorney in Flint, Michigan. Much of my work was in the Social Justice realm--I represented indigent clients whose children had been placed in foster care or who were facing criminal charges. I also represented a lot of people who needed assistance managing their debt. I learned a lot about the challenges that poor and disadvantaged people face and one of my goals is to give them a voice by writing their stories.
And then I moved to Utah, the land of speculative fiction. Utahns love fantasy and sci-fi stuff and I caught the bug! (Or got stung by the Bee?) For those of you unfamiliar with Utah, it is referred to as the Beehive State, so I just made a really tacky joke.
Anyway, I thought it was best to keep my writing worlds separate, so I write my other-worldly stuff under a pen name--E.M. Flint--which was my spunky mammaw's name.
These days, I spend a lot of time in my head, creating new stories, new worlds, new art. This website will be my primary mode of sharing my work with others in a single place. I'll keep you updated about new additions to my body of work.
I have also been taking filmmaking classes and have a YouTube channel with some student films created from my screenplays. They are amatuer but have good vibes. "Maverick & Tallula" stars two actors with disabilities.
As a visitor here, you can become part of the community I want to create. I will update the website and blog about future projects periodically as they come closer to their birthdates.
Here is a list of things that will be unrolling in 2020:
Thank you so much for being part of this community.
Here are some ways you can support me and become more involved. Check out my E.M. Flint publications currently on Amazon or support the "Nine Lives of John Aslin" podcast on Patreon. Half of the proceeds of the podcast will be used to promote the release of John Aslin and provide him with resources to rebuild his life. Or buy an original piece of my original abstract artwork if you need to decorate a wall.
The best way to keep in touch is to join my e-mail list, so be sure to do that!
Thanks for stopping by!
